Captain Marvel was released recently and I have been waiting for this movie ever since the day they were announced. To be very honest, I have never been a comic reader, or a comic fan but after the announcement of this movie, I did my research and I was charmed by this particular character. She's strong, she doesn't give a damn about what people's expectation of her and she just stood out to me. I became a much bigger fan after I started following a very very passionate fan site of Captain Marvel. Which you guys can follow at @CaptMarvelNews on twitter. He is amazing!

Anyway, walking in the cinema, I had a huge expectations for this film. Sometimes it is dangerous to walk in with so much expectations cause sometimes I would be disappointed but Captain Marvel, did not disappoint. Here's my review!

The story line for Captain Marvel is a very simple origin story. Nothing too heavy. It is very light and entertaining to watch. It is a story about a Noble Warrior Hero Kree Starforce, Vers fighting off the shape-shifting terrorists Skrulls and she ended up in C-53, Earth. Then, down at Earth, she begins discovering her true identities.

I know some people have been saying like "Her character is all over the places. One minute she's 'THIS' the next she's 'THAT'." To be very honest, to me, it was all supposed to be. Carol is working with her character development. If she doesn't evolve and start to pick a side, HOW ON EARTH CAN HER CHARACTER BE DEVELOPED??

To me, I love how this movie centers about exploring and discovering who Carol Danvers and Captain Marvel really is. It's like the writer is putting the audience in the journey together with the characters because her character is as clueless as the audiences are. Which is fun as the movie picks up half way and we begin to unravel some information on who she really is.

The plot twist was pleasant and it dwells into making a solid reason for Carol Danver's cause.

The script managed to highlight Captain Marvel's quirkiness. What I like about the character is that she is arrogant, she is proud and very confident with herself when she was fighting as a starforce and I love how they explored her character moves forward into the movie and you can see how her arrogance was slowly turned down, the more she realize how lost she was. I feel like, it's a beauty of self-discovery.

The actors.. man, Listen.. This line up is amazing. We have an Oscar Award Winning actress playing Captain Marvel and Samual L. Jackson, Jude Law, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan. They're all amazing.

Honesly, props to Lashana Lynch cause she sure made me cry in this movie. I love how she played Maria Rambeau. Such a loving and strong character, I love her character deeply. She's such a badass and damn. She's so good. I WANNA SEE MORE OF HER.

Brie Larson brought a lot of qualities as an actress into playing Vers, Carol Danvers and Captain Marvel herself. To me, I felt the method she went for in this movie. The numbness of her character playing someone who thought she knew who she was, who is confused and is discovering herself. I love how she evolves and gained this character of herself by the end of the film. It's honestly like watching a flower blooming. Slowing uncovering this beauty and this side of her that she never knew would see the light of day. Good job to Brie on this part.

Watching Samuel L. Jackson's character was very refreshing. He was happier, vibrant than ever in Captain Marvel. I definitely feel like yeap this is what a younger version of Fury would be like. He is more lively and there's logic there, which I like. I do understand why people get upset with the twist on his eye, I just thought it was funny.

Visual wise, there are some moments in the movie, where I felt like her CGI, looked... too CGI? If that make sense. I think they could have been done better. I assume, Marvel is under a lot of pressure into making this movie on time for the release. Just my guess. I can never be so right. Lol.

so the score is... you've guessed it...

CAPTAIN MARVEL - 5/5
